Galatians

THE CROSS in ALL CAPS

“See with what large letters I have written to you with my own hand!” Galatians 6:11

Although we have more technology today than ever that makes vocal communication between us extremely easy - like phone calls or FaceTime or Skype - it seems we still prefer to communicate the old fashioned way: by using text. In the past we used pen and paper, and today we use email and text messaging. While these mediums of sending and receiving messages are vastly different from each other, the information is essentially still seen the same. It’s black letters on a white background.

Helping Others

“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2

The word “burden” refers to the heavy or oppressive weight a believer cannot carry alone. It could be a financial burden or a burden of temptation. Whatever the burden may be, the spirit-filled Christian will help bear the load others find too heavy to carry alone. Once Christians come alongside those who are struggling, they find that carrying their load isn't a burden, but a blessing.

The Truth of the Matter

“And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” Galatians 5:24

“Crucifixion produced death not suddenly but gradually. True Christians do not succeed in completely destroying the flesh while here below; but they have fixed it on the cross, and they are determined to keep it there till it expire” (John Brown).
